New Elgato Ring Light is designed to make you look good

Elgato has brought out a high-end Ring Light aimed at content creators or even Zoom meeting participants looking for high-quality illumination without glare.

It’s an edge-lit, flicker-free OSRAM LED ring that measures 43cm in diameter. It uses two diffusion layers to produce a uniform circular glow with that, the company says, “evenly encapsulates facial contours, eliminates shadows and flatters the skin”.

Because different content creators need different lighting for different vibes, the light gives you a wide range of adjustment.

Firstly, you can dim its bright 2500-lumens output in increments of one per cent. Secondly, you can adjust the colour temperature from 2900K (think sunrise or sunset) to 7000K (Arctic blue).

Elgato also says the light won’t strain your eyes or cause you to break out in a sweat.

The Elgato Ring Light can be physically adjusted via a telescopic pole and 3D swivel mount.

And, unlike many light rings we’ve seen which are separate to your phone or camera setup, it has a ball mount with a 1/4-inch screw that allows you to mount your camera or phone (via a separate accessory) within the ring itself.

There’s wireless (Wi-Fi) control via a free Control Center app on a PC or phone, or through the Elgato Stream Deck studio control centre. You can also set the brightness and colour temperature using buttons on the ring itself.
