New Casio Casiotone CT-S1000V keyboard can sing your lyrics
The ability to use a keyboard to ‘sing’ your written lyrics is now a reality with the vocal synthesis-enabled Casiotone CT-S1000V.
“The CT-S1000V is a new kind of electronic musical instrument which uses Casio’s unique Vocal Synthesis sound source technology enabling you to take lyrics from your smart device and – using one of a range of built-in vocal tones – lets you play the vocal line using the keyboard,” says Casio Music Australia national sales & marketing manager Malcolm Pogue.
You speak or type your lyrics using the free Lyric Creator iOS/Android app. Each press of a key on the Casiotone CT-S1000V will then play a complete phrase or individual syllables. There are multiple vocalist models to choose from, and each can be adjusted for age, vibrato, portamento and other parameters in real time. It sounds as if you can create anything from Daft Punk to the Australian Chamber Choir.
Other than vocal synthesis, the keyboard has 800 tones on board, from concert grands, electric pianos and organs to strings, synths and vintage keyboard sounds.
The CT-S1000V also has 243 full-accompaniment rhythms which create entire backing bands that react to the way you play.
“The CT-S1000V is not a conventional synthesiser or keyboard, nor is it a simple production device,” Pogue says. “Instead it opens up possibilities for unprecedented freedom and creativity in vocal performances.
