ECOVACS launches DEEBOT OZMO T8 robot vacuum cleaner
ECOVACS has brought out a new robot vacuum cleaner, the DEEBOT OZMO T8, with 3D detection technology that promises 10 times better obstacle avoidance than traditional infrared technology.
The proprietary TrueDetect 3D tech scans for depth and distance down to the millimetre level to create a 3D image of your room. This helps the robot vacuum clean around all the furniture and bits and pieces scattered around your home.
To make sure the cleaning pattern isn’t just random, the DEEBOT OZMO T8 also features another ECOVACs technology, TrueMapping.
This laser-based system scans and maps your home then plans an efficient cleaning path. This lets you set parameters such as keep-out areas and room-only cleaning.

The robot vacuum cleaner has a 5200mAh lithium-ion battery that provides up to three hours of runtime – enough to clean a 300-square-metre home on a single charge.
There are also two accessories available. The first, the OZMO Pro Oscillating Mopping System, lets you mop using water and high-frequency vibration. ECOVACS says it will remove over 99 per cent of bacteria on floors and automatically avoid carpets.
The second is the Auto-Empty Station, which automatically empties the T8 (and its sister, the T8 AIVI) and holds about 30 days’ worth of dirt.
