Samsung updates its A-Series with five new phones from $499 to $749
Samsung has launched five new entry- to mid-range Android phones, which is good news for those who want higher-end features but don’t want to pay the earth for a premium model.
The new models are the Samsung Galaxy A-Series A32, A32 5G, A52, A52 5G and A72, which range in price from $499 to $749.
As you’d expect, features and capability vary across that price range, but Samsung promises awesome cameras, clear viewing experiences with smooth scrolling displays and long-lasting batteries. Some of the handsets are water-resistant.
The new phones will come in three colours in Australia. We spent some time with the Samsung colour team in Seoul a few years ago. They’re such a passionate bunch, working years ahead to predict and execute colour trends. For these smartphones they’ve come up with Awesome Blue, Awesome Black, Awesome Violet and Awesome White – but the last one won’t be available here.
“Last year Samsung had its most successful year in sales for this category,” Samsung Electronics Australia IT & Mobile vice-president Garry McGregor says. “The Galaxy A-Series was the most popular device of choice for people who purchased a mid-tier smartphone in Australia – this is by no means an accident.
“We want to shape the market around what our customers want and how they live. We’re not talking about gimmicks, this is innovation that is real and tangible that we are making more accessible. Hands down, there has never been a mid-tier device offering like this.”
Samsung’s premium Galaxy Buds Live earphones are being bundled with the entire new A-Series range, McGregor adds – though only if bought before April 23.
