Navman’s new MiVue dash cams add smart parking mode and 4K surround recording

Navman has launched its 2026 MiVue dash cam range, led by a flagship system that not only records while driving but also monitors your car when it’s parked – a response to new research showing nearly half of Australian drivers have experienced damage while away from their vehicle.

At the centre of the lineup is the MiVue Smart True 4K Surround (pictured above), a three-camera system designed to capture front, rear and side-impact footage in a single setup. It’s a notable step up from traditional dash cams, with side coverage aimed at incidents like lane changes, side swipes and T-bone collisions, scenarios that are often missed by front-and-rear-only systems.

The broader 2026 MiVue range focuses heavily on a gap highlighted by Navman’s research: 47 per cent of Australian drivers report their vehicle has been damaged while unattended, and more than one in 10 couldn’t gather any evidence. Even when evidence exists, tracking down witnesses or CCTV footage is often unreliable or out of reach.  

To address that, Navman’s new Integrated Smart Parking Mode is built directly into select models, allowing the camera to record incidents while the car is parked – including hit-and-runs, vandalism or even minor damage like shopping trolley bingles. Unlike previous setups that required separate accessories, the system is now integrated, with a hardwiring kit included for continuous monitoring without draining the vehicle’s battery.

Longer recording times

Another headline feature is Extended Recording Mode, an Australia-first capability that reduces file sizes by around 50 per cent without lowering video resolution. In practical terms, that means drivers can store significantly more footage on the same SD card before it starts overwriting older clips – useful for long drives or extended parking periods.  

Navman also leans into driver assistance with its Smart Safety Camera Alerts. These speed-adaptive warnings adjust based on how fast you’re travelling, delivering earlier alerts at higher speeds and fewer notifications when you’re already driving within limits. The system covers speed cameras, school zones and red-light cameras, and includes average speed tracking with real-time distance and timing information.

Across the range, video quality is another key selling point. All models record in at least 2.5K resolution, with higher-end options offering full 4K. The aim is to capture finer details like number plates, road signs and indicators — critical when footage is used as evidence in disputes or insurance claims.  

Additional features include Wi-Fi connectivity for quick footage sharing via the MiVue Pro app, tailgating alerts on select models, and supercapacitors designed to handle Australia’s hotter conditions more reliably than traditional batteries.

Now available through major electronics retailers, the lineup spans multiple price points, starting with the entry-level MiVue 280 Safety at $189, moving through mid-range 4K models, and topping out at $529 for the Smart True 4K Surround.
